nerves yes, reaching out, quenching unrelenting.
tense , as if everything was going to collapse,
my world down upon my head.
it is how this all will be , came to me,
my body telling me to release the storm.
If you had a friend, so close, so dear, and they disappeared.
And all that was left was you and your never ending thoughts.
How would you go on? Continuing existence in a lonely solitude.
Nothing but ancient thoughts, and dreams long sense faded.
As if I had become some desert expanse, mountains on the horizon.
Snow capped and dark on the fading skyline.
Nothing but stones and cacti to comfort me.
And here on this never ending expanse you were to stand,
And it felt as if the very air around you, hot and dense,
suffocated, skin enclosed.
Everything would change, lizards crackled from the sun,
telling you your fortunes.
Good or bad, telling or lies, the lizard cares not.
This is life after life, life after happiness, life after it all passes.
And the humming buzz of lightening in the air warns you,
surpass me and you may leave this expanse and start anew,
but succumb and forever stay alone in my desert.
